The Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School softball team won a pair of district games last week, whipping Franklin County 20-6 and Bozeman 13-3.


The Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School softball team won a pair of district games last week, whipping Franklin County 20-6 and Bozeman 13-3.



The wins upped the Lady Tiger Sharksí district record to 4-1; Port St. Joe is 5-2 overall.



Stephanie Brinkmeier and MaKayla Ramsey combined to beat Franklin County in a game called after five innings on the mercy rule.



Brinkmeier started and went 2 2/3 innings and Ramsey pitched the final 2 1/3 innings.
Haley Wood had two hits, a home run to left field and a double and drove in five runs.



Kelsey Miles had a double and also drove in five runs.



The Lady Tiger Sharks traveled to Bozeman, winning again in five innings based on the mercy rule.



Ramsey (2-0) went the distance, allowing three unearned runs on three hits while striking out three and walking one.



Christian Laine had three hits for Port St. Joe. Brittany King had two including a towering home run to left field and Miles added three hits. Ramsey had a pair of hits.



Spring Break Classic Saturday



The Lady Tiger Sharks will host Sneads, Madison County and Bay High in their annual Spring Break Classic on Saturday.



Port St. Joe will open play at 10 a.m. ET versus Bay High. Bay plays Sneads at noon, Madison County faces Sneads at 2 p.m. and Madison takes on Port St. Joe at 4 p.m.



Tickets are $5 for the day.
