A Wewahitchka woman was convicted last week of shooting her boyfriend despite the refusal of the boyfriend to testify against her.


A Wewahitchka woman was convicted last week of shooting her boyfriend despite the refusal of the boyfriend to testify against her.



Esther Jean Wilson, 53, of 775 N. State 71, was convicted by a jury of aggravated battery with a firearm.



She faces life in prison for the first-degree felony.



Wilson will be sentenced April 25 by Circuit Court Judge Shonna Gay.



Wilson was arrested after shooting her boyfriend, Walter L. Wright, Jr., in the face during an argument on Feb. 5, 2012.



Wright did not cooperate with prosecutors, refusing to testify.
