Coming off a two-game winning streak to end the regular season, the Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School boys’ soccer team opened District 1-1A tournament play Monday with a 3-1 win over West Gadsden.


Coming off a two-game winning streak to end the regular season, the Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School boys’ soccer team opened District 1-1A tournament play Monday with a 3-1 win over West Gadsden.



The Tiger Sharks faced the Tallahassee Maclay-Rocky Bayou Tuesday night in the semifinals.



The district title game is 7 p.m. ET Friday at Maclay.



The Tiger Sharks took a very early lead as Marcel Duarte scored the quickest goal in school history when he scored unassisted just 22 seconds into the match.



West Gadsden answered with its lone goal in the 42nd minute, before Port St. Joe senior Drew Lacour scored on a penalty kick at the 46th minute. Cole Cryderman finished the Tiger Shark scoring in the 59th minute on an assist from Duarte.



Tyler Alford once again got the start in goal and was called on the make seven saves on 13 shots. The Tiger Sharks had 11 shots.
