On Monday, Jan. 13, the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) opened an investigation after receiving information about the sexual molestation of a 15 year old female. Lt. Paul Beasley conducted the investigation and arrested John Edwin Linton (19) of Wewahitchka. Linton was charged with one count of Lewd or Lascivious Battery on a child under sixteen.



On Jan. 13, the GCSO received a report of a residential burglary at 317 East Reid Ave, in Wewahitchka. Deputy Paul Williams responded to the call. Several different prescription medications were stolen, along with approximately $200 in cash. The GCSO continues to investigate this case.



On Tuesday, Jan. 14, a report of the theft of gasoline from a vehicle’s tank was received. The offense occurred at 529 Chipola Avenue in Wewahitchka between Dec. 25-Jan. 1. An estimated 15 gallons of fuel was taken during the theft.



On Jan. 14, Deputy Meredith Ward served two arrest orders on Melissa Danielle Sims (28). Sims was in contempt of court for Permitting an Unauthorized Operator to Drive and for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.



On Jan. 14, Deputy Michael Layfield responded to a domestic disturbance complaint in the 2000 block of Trout Avenue in Highland View. Upon completing an investigation David Allen Clark (29) and Jamie Lee Register (21) were placed under arrest for Domestic Battery.



On Jan. 14, Deputy Paul Williams arrested Kyle Edward Jones (22) at 221 Angel Fish Street in Highland View. Warrants were issued for Jones for Violation of Probation – Criminal Mischief with Property Damage and Fraudulent Use of Credit Card. Jones was transported to the Gulf County Detention Facility.



On Jan. 14, Deputy Paul Williams responded to a report of a hit and run. Windmark Beach security personnel contacted the GCSO after discovering a gate on their property had been struck with a vehicle. The offense occurred between 9:30 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. It is believed the vehicle involved could be a newer model Ford F150.



On Wednesday, Jan. 15, Eugene Phillip Allen (27) turned himself in. Allen was wanted for Violation of Probation – Driving While License Suspended or Revoked and No Valid Driver’s License. This same day, Jack Ernest Davila (46) was arrested on a warrant for Violation of Probation out of Bay County.



On Thursday, Jan. 16, Deputy Jordan Brock responded to the report of a residential burglary at 802 Jones Homestead Road. The owner reported that on Tuesday, Jan. 14, the residence was entered and prescription medication, along with a gold necklace with a pendant was stolen from a bedroom. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. The GCSO continues to investigate this case.



On Jan. 16, GCSO deputies arrested Rodney Dewayne Adkison (33) in the 200 block of McGlon Drive in Wewahitchka. Warrants for Possession of Listed Chemicals, Manufacturing of Methamphetamine, and Felony Driving While License Suspended or Revoked were served on Adkison. He was transported to the Gulf County Detention Facility.
