After winning at Hosford, the Port St. Joe Junior High girls remained unbeaten by winning the Hoop Fest junior high tournament in “The Dome” last Saturday.
The girls beach Hosford last Thursday 48-24. The Lady Tiger Sharks was led by Teiyahna Hutchinson with 22 points. Brooklyn Quinn added 18, Destiny Gadson four and Hallie Jasinski four.
During the Hoop Fest, the Lady Tiger Sharks opened the four-team girls’ tournament with a 38-5 win over Wewahitchka. Quinn led the scoring with 18, Hutchinson had 12, Claudia Gref and Jasinski four each and Javia Patterson scored two.
Bozemandefeated Riverspring Middle School 25-23 in overtime to face Port St. Joe in the championship game.
Port St. Joe jumped to an 8-1 first-quarter lead and made it 20-7 at the half. The second half was more of the same as Port St. Joe won 43-11.
Hutchinsonpaced the Lady Tiger Sharks with 22 points. Quinn added 16, Aliyah Johnson three and Gref two.
Port St. Joe hosts Hosford at 4 p.m. ET on Monday, Nov. 26 and the Lady Tiger Shark varsity will open their season Tuesday, Nov. 27 when they host Rutherford at 5 p.m. ET.
