The Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High Lady Tiger Sharks (3-6 overall, 2-3 in District 1-1A) hosted West Gadsden on Dec. 15.
The Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High Lady Tiger Sharks (3-6 overall, 2-3 in District 1-1A) hosted West Gadsden on Dec. 15. Port St. Joe led the entire game and came away with a 55-33 win. Two seventh-graders led the way for the Lady Tiger Sharks, Brooklyn Quinn had 21 points and Teiyahna Hutchinson 14. Maya Robbins added 12 points, Callie Fleshren five, Alyssa Parker two, and Maliayah McNair added one.
The Lady Tiger Sharks beat county rival Wewahitchka 45-42 on Dec. 18. Port St. Joe was down 18-9 at the end of the first quarter and closed to 23-21 at the half. The Lady Tiger Sharks took the lead in the third period out-scoring the Lady Gators 13-9 and taking the lead 36-30. Although Port St. Joe won the game the night belonged to Wewahitchka senior Jessica Smith who had 26 points to eclipse 1,000 points in her career as a Lady Gator.
Port St. Joe was led in scoring by Hutchinson with 21 points. Quinn added 16, Robbins six, Fleshren two and McNair two. Tara Walding had 10 points for Wewahitchka and Sage Baker had 10 rebounds for the Lady Gators.
