Gulf County Sheriff Arrest Log

The Gulf County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting vehicle safety checkpoints and DUI check points during the month of June 2010. The check points will be held throughout the county to include Highway 98 near St. Joe Beach, Highway 98 and Garrison Ave, C-30 Simmons Bayou, Highway 71 North of White City, Highway 22 and Highway 22A, Highway 71 and Westarm Creek, Highway 71 Dalkieth Area and Highway 71 near the Calhoun line.

On 06/18/2010 deputies observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on Highway 98 passing in a no passing zone. Deputies were able to stop the vehicle driven by Charles Randall Word, Jr., 41. When asked why he was going 100 mph and passing cars in a no passing zone he said ‘I was only going 90 miles per hour.’ Word was arrested for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and aggressive driving.

On 06/18/2010 deputies observed a vehicle parked in the middle of Highway 22. They stopped and made contact with the vehicle and during the conversation with the individuals in the vehicle K-9 Zeus conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle. Zeus indicated the presence of illegal narcotics. Deputies located a Pringles can under the driver’s seat, which contained a baggie of crack cocaine, Demetrice Lee Jones admitted the drugs were his; he was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine.

On 06/20/2010 deputies responded to a disturbance and made contact with several intoxicated individuals. They calmed the situation and left the area only to be called back 10 minutes later. When they returned they made contact with a third individual who was not presented the first time and learned she had a warrant for DUI in St. Lucie County. Rebecca T. Espriella, 37, was arrested on the warrant. Christopher Lee Powell and Anna Maria Hood, 41, were also placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.

On 06/20/2010 a vehicle driven by Christopher A Stembridge, 38, was stopped for a traffic offense. While the deputy was speaking with Stembridge he noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person. Stembridge was asked to perform several field sobriety exercises which he did poorly on and he was arrested for DUI and DWLSR.

On 06/20/2010 deputies responded to a call concerning a possible stolen car. The deputies made contact with the victim who was 75-years-old and they determined that the car wasn’t stolen but that Brian Thomas Laurimore, 42, had struck the victim several times and held her against her will. Laurimore was arrested on charges of false imprisonment and battery on a person over the age of 65.

On 06/21/2010 deputies responded to a traffic crash in the Highland View area. They found that Willie Wesley Yeager, 26, was operating a vehicle on a suspended driver’s license; he was arrested for DWLSR.

On 06/21/2010 Jamie Deandra Fenn, 29, was arrested on violation of probation warrant.

On 06/22/2010 Theresa Nicole Whitfield, 31, was arrested on a violation of probation warrant.

On 06/22/2010 deputies responded to a disturbance. Lonnie Harold McLemore, 46, and Tammy Gainous McLemore, 39, were arrested on charges of domestic battery.
