Dear Editor,
Well “kids” here we go again! Really, with all the issues this county has, not to pick something like the use of county money to give our county children a better Christmas is ridiculous.
I, for one, applaud Commissioner Billy Traylor for doing this. At the very least he did make an effort to see that the parade was a success and make our local kids happy.
I still wonder if all our elected and/or appointed county workers and commissioners, etc, have paid all their owed back taxes.
Take a hard look around this area and open your eyes up to what is really needed. Completion of county work projects, replacement of worn out or removed park equipment, road lights, enforcement of traffic laws. Promised beach projects go on and on. This county also needs to revisit the county’s not picking up household junk, “white goods,” etc. Now that these items are not picked up all that is happening is piling up or illegal dumping of items in the woods or vacant lots. Again, open your eyes and see what is really needed.
I agree on one point that the county needs to start posting county news (service ads), town hall meetings, etc. in our local newspaper and not in the Panama City papers. I for one “try” to buy local goods when I can and for sure do not buy out of town papers.
