Warrants Result in Pot Busts

 

On Tuesday afternoon, May 26, members of the Gulf County Sheriffs Office served two search warrants. The first was in the Beacon Hill area at the home of Danny Oakes, 61. During the search approximately two pounds of marijuana, $2,332 and miscellaneous paraphernalia were located.

Oakes was charged with sale of marijuana, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $12,500.

 A second search warrant was served in the Overstreet area at the home of James W. Naus, 56. During the search deputies located approximately one half-pound of marijuana, $5,000 in cash and 10 marijuana plants. Naus was charged with sale of marijuana, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $12,000.
