Couple Celebrated 60th Wedding Anniversary
Dolores Mira Hattaway and Jesse Barnes (J.B.) Hattaway celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on November 9, 2010. They were married on November 9, 1950 by Father O'Sullivan at St. Patrick Catholic Church in
Apalachicola, Florida.
J.B. moved to Port St. Joe from Defuniak Springs, Florida in 1949 when St. Joe Paper Company mill opened. He worked as an Electrician there for 43 years and Dolores was a devoted homemaker. They have been members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port St. Joe and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mexico Beach through the years.
The couple celebrated with their family; daughter, Debra Hattaway Davis (Gary Pridgen); son, Joseph Stephen Hattaway (Monica Tarantino); grandchildren, Dana McGarry (Kevin), Bryan Earley (Amanda), and John Joseph (J.J.) Hattaway; and great-grandchildren, Cole, Sean, and Patrick McGarry, and Lillian Earley.
Dolores and J.B. have lived "true love by example" before their family. They have clung to each other through "thick and thin"; or as the vows they said some 60 years ago, "For better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part".
Mama and Daddy,( MaMa Dee and PaPa J.B.), all of our lives have been blessed because of you and your example. We love you very much!
Your Devoted Family
THE PROMISE
"Across the years
I will walk with you--
In deep, green forests:
On shores of sand:
And when our time
On earth is through
In heaven, too,
You will have my hand."
