Looking Ahead to 2010

The congregation of the Presbyterian Church, located on 16th Street in Port St. Joe is looking forward to 2010 for many special reasons.

First and foremost we have a new permanent pastor. Drucilla Lyles, and her cat “Isis” have recently moved to Port St. Joe from South Florida. We are very excited and feel she will be a great asset to the community, as well as a spiritual leader for our church.

On Sunday, Jan. 31, we will have a guest pastor, Jacque Asbel, daughter of the late Jacque Price of Port St. Joe, who was raised in our church and attended school in Port St. Joe. She has become a pastor and is coming back to lead our worship service on that day at 10 a.m. I’ve mentioned the Fifth-Sunday-Sing-a-Long, which we share with the Wewahitchka Presbyterian Church and that falls on Jan. 31 also.

Since Pastor Tyler will serve the Wewahitchka Presbyterian Church as well as our church we will all gather at Wewahitchka for dinner, special music and fellowship. This is one of our scheduled activities and greatly enjoyed by all.

We welcome all the “Snowbirds,” especially new “regulars” who add so much to our worship while they are here.

Thanks to The Star and their staff for putting our messages out into the community, which we all part of, and extend a cordial welcome to all to come and worship with us on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. The service is followed by “Special Time” and then Sunday School.
