Gulf County Sheriff Arrest Log

The Gulf County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting vehicle safety checkpoints and DUI check points during the month of March 2010. The check points will be held throughout the county to include Highway 98 near St. Joe Beach, Highway 98 and Garrison Ave, C-30 Simmons Bayou, Highway 71 North of White City, Highway 22 and Highway 22A, Highway 71 and Westarm Creek, Highway 71 Dalkieth Area and Highway 71 near the Calhoun line.

On 02/17/2010 Jason Edward Strimel, 26, was arrested on warrants for grand theft and dealing in stolen property. It is alleged that he stole two chainsaws and sold them to an individual in Dalkieth.

On 02/11/2010 Donald William Moses, 23, was arrested for grand theft and burglary to a conveyance. It is alleged that he broke into a truck in the Overstreet area and stole an I-pod and Blackberry cell phone both items were located in Moses’s home.

On 02/20/2010 deputies responded to a domestic disturbance, when they arrived they made contact with Carlos Clay Lucas, 50, and he was arrested and charged with resisting and officer without violence.

On 02/21/2010 Jonathan Eugene Bennett, 37, was arrested on charges of DUI. He was given a breath test and the results were .179 and .179, over twice the legal limit in Florida.

On 02/22/2010 Douglas Edward Robinson, 42, came to the sheriff’s office and turned himself in for a child support warrant.

On 02/22/2010 deputies responded to a disturbance in the Wewahitchka area. Upon arrival they found the victim had been stabbed in the upper left chest area with a kitchen knife. The suspect Ronnie Dale Morgan, 55, was located the next morning and arrested on charges of aggravated battery. The victim was treated and released form a local hospital.

On 02/23/2010 Tammy Nichols Finch, 38, was arrested on a Bay County violation of probation warrant; she was released after posting bond.

On 02/22/2010 Jeremy Dewayne Riley, 22, was profiled on Crime Stoppers’ Wheel of Justice. The next day several tips led to his arrest on seven counts of sale of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church.

On 02/25/2010 Stevie Lamar Johnson, Jr., 27, walked away from a work squad. He was located approximately one hour later and he was charged with escape. Johnson was due to be released for the Gulf County Jail on March 1, 2010.

On 02/26/2010 deputies served a search warrant at 140 McGlon Drive in connection to the recent rash of air conditioner thefts in the northern part of Gulf County. James W. (JW) Hammond, 69, was arrested and charged with three counts of dealing in stolen property. It is alleged that he had purchased several of the stolen air conditioners from his son and grandson. Michael Allen Hammond, 29, was arrested and charged with three counts of burglary, three counts of dealing in stolen property and three counts of grand theft.
