Gulf County Sheriff Arrest Log
The Gulf County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting vehicle safety checkpoints and DUI check points during the month of June 2010. The check points will be held throughout the county to include Highway 98 near St. Joe Beach, Highway 98 and Garrison Ave, C-30 Simmons Bayou, Highway 71 North of White City, Highway 22 and Highway 22A, Highway 71 and Westarm Creek, Highway 71 Dalkieth Area and Highway 71 near the Calhoun line.
On 06/15/2010 narcotics investigators attempted to stop a vehicle operated by John C. Fields, 21. Fields pulled his vehicle to the side of Highway 71. As the investigator exited his vehicle, Fields sped off. Investigators chased Fields for several miles on Highway 71. He ran off the road and wrecked in the Honeyville area, Fields fled the area and was not located. During an inventory of the vehicle two-gallon zip lock bags filled with marijuana were located in the trunk. Warrants have been issued for Fields anyone with information concerning his location is asked to call the sheriff’s office 850-227-1115 or Crime Stoppers at 785-TIPS.
On 06/14/2010 deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Rodney Laverell Russ, 39; during the stop marijuana was found in his vehicle and he was arrested for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
On 06/14/2010 Frank Leonard Johnson II was arrested on warrants for failure to pay child support.
On 06/14/2010 deputies responded to a disturbance, Anthony Lee Watts, 28, was arrested for felony battery.
On 06/16/2010 Charles Dewayne Brant, 50, was arrested on warrants for failure to pay child support.
On 06/16/2010 Gary Monroe Gibbs, 48, was arrested for Driving on a Suspended license.
On 06/18/2010 deputies responded to a disturbance in the Overstreet area; Theresa Nicole Whitfield, 31, was arrested for battery.
