Graduate Proud of Gulf County Schools
Dear Editor,
I am absolutely appalled at last week's article "One Parents Perspective." However I do agree that the author that lives in Mexico Beach has every right in the world to send his or her children to the school that is in their district, however the educational opportunities that are available in Gulf County are far from inferior that said author reported.
While I do agree that Gulf County school system is smaller and it's all a money game, the teachers and faculty at all the district schools go over and beyond to make sure that all students are given the best opportunity.
I graduated from a Gulf County High School and scored a 1500 on the SAT. I am a firm believer that you get out of education what you put into it. In our 1997 graduating class of 36 we currently have 2 Doctors, 6 Lawyers, 4 Accountants, 9 Nurses, 4 Top Ranked business owners and a world renowned Chef. So for anyone to say that Gulf County students are not afford that same opportunity as a bigger school is absolutely wrong in my opinion.
