Where is the Marker?

Dear Editor:

Just a note wondering if “anyone” has noticed that the bronze plaque designating “The Tupelo Parkway” on Lake Grove Road in Wewahitchka has been removed or more likely stolen? The plaque was located at the intersection of Cox Landing Road and Lake Grove Road.

We noticed it was removed over a month ago?  The designation was made in 1966 by the Florida Legislature.

Maybe it’s a continuing trend that bronze is a “High Market Item” and thieves are taking advantage.  Law enforcement should be aware, so far the Gaskin Park plaque is still in place.
