Mary Esther Thompson Bass Obituary

Mary Esther Thompson Bass, age 92, passed away on Jan. 13, 2012 in Gulf Breeze, Fla. She was a kind and gentle soul who had an intense love for her family.

She was born to Henry and Gertrude Thompson on Sept. 9, 1919 in Chokoloskee, Fla. She married the late Paul Bass in 1939. They resided in Port St. Joe until moving to Wewahitchka in 1978.

Mary Esther was predeceased by her husband, Paul; daughter, Esther Anita; son, Steve; son-in-law, Jerry Brewer; and grandson, Jerry Paul Brewer.

She will be remembered in love and her memories will be deeply cherished by her family. Daughters: Paula Brewer of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Sandra (Fred) Joines of Lakewood, Colo. Grandchildren: Lita (Troy) Basham of Pensacola, Fla.; Kelly (Christoph) Joines of Denver, Colo.; Slade Joines of Evens, Colo.; Shane (Emily) Joines of Littleton, Colo.; Ashlea Scarabin of Panama City; and Brooke (Travis) Spikes of Crystal Lake, Fla. Great grandchildren: Stephen Bowers of Meridian, Miss.; Josh and Ashley Bowers of Pensacola; Sierra and Hunter Joines of Evans, Colo.; Brendan, Lucas and Ivy Joines of Littleton, Colo.; Ayden Welch and Joseph Rizzo of Panama City; and Addison Spikes of Crystal Lake, Fla. Sisters: Clara Smallwood of Sparta, N.C. and Belle Noyles of Tarpon Springs, Fla.

Graveside services, officiated by Rev. Dan Baughman, were held at Jehu Cemetery in Wewahitchka on Jan. 29.
