Congratulations PSJ Girls Track Team

Dear Editor:

On Friday, April 30 the Port St. Joe High School girls’ track team won its second state title in three years. First place in 2008, second place in 2009, 2.5 points from finishing in first place and first in 2010: that is a great accomplishment.

Thank you Kayla Parker, who has won 12 individual track and field state titles. She is the most decorated title-holder in Port St. Joe High School history. That will probably never happen again in our school history.

Thanks also to the quartet of Mariah Johnson, Fanequa Larry, Ashleigh Lewis and Naomi Warren for they also contributed to this great run of championships. They do not get the glory but they are all deserving.

Thanks for all of your hard work and representing Port St. Joe High School and the City of Port St. Jot well. We have some of the best athletes living in our little town.

Also, thanks to Coach Kenny Parker for all your hard work. He does not get the credit he so richly deserves.

Good luck Kayla when you go off to the University of Kentucky this fall. Go Wildcats.

A Shark Fan for Life,

Norma Hobbs

Port St. Joe
