Belin-Carrete Wedding
Bonnie Margaret Belin of Port Saint Joe, Florida and Angel Francisco Carrete of Guadalajara, Mexico were married on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the First United Methodist Church of Port Saint Joe, with the Rev. Mac Fulcher and the Rev. Larry Trotter officiating the 6 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Belin of Port Saint Joe, Florida. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Belin of Port Saint Joe, Florida and Barbara F. Smith and the late Dr. Malcom Earl Smith of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Bonnie graduated from Troy University and the University of Florida and is employed with Cornerstone Academy in Guadalajara, Mexico as a teacher.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Alfonso Carrete of Guadalajara, Mexico. He is the grandson of Francisca Carrete of Tijuana, Mexico and the late Alfonso Carrete, Angela Rodriguez of Tulancingo, Mexico and the late Gregorio Rodriguez. Angel graduated from Iteso University and is employed as an engineer in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin gown with an off the shoulder bodice and a cathedral length train.
The bride was attended by Becky Belin McDaniel of Port Saint Joe, Florida, sister of the bride, as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Wentzel, Heflin, Alabama, college friend of the bride, Ashley Floyd, Mobile, Alabama, college friend of the bride, Karissa Thomas, Gainesville, Florida, childhood friend of the bride, and Kristen Duke, Selma, Alabama, college friend of the bride.
Flower girl was cousin of the bride, Ella Smith Fitzhugh.
Groomsmen were Alfonso Carrete, Guadalajara, Mexico, brother of the groom, Diego Carrete, Guadalajara, Mexico, brother of the groom, Juan Jose Carrete, Guadalajara, Mexico, brother of the groom, and Roy McDaniel, Orlando, Florida, brother-in-law of the bride.
Ring bearer was Andres Garcia, nephew of the groom.
Phyllis Altstaetter, Kimberly Thomas, and Deborah Loyless directed the ceremony. Musicians were organist, Hilda Duren, violist, Emma Smith Fitzhugh, vocalists, Daniel and Lesley Hubbard, and guitarist, Robert Yoder.
Following a trip to Tulum, Mexico the couple will reside in Guadalajara, Mexico.
