Edith E. Smith

Edith E. Smith, 81, of Port St. Joe, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 13, 2008, at Bay St. Joe Care Center. Edith was born in Bagdad, FL to the late Harry and Ida Mae Jones and graduated from Port St. Joe High School in 1944. She was a retired manager with the Emerald Coast Federal Credit Union (formerly St. Joe Papermakers FCU) in Port St. Joe, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe where she belonged to the Bethany Sunday School Class.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn Smith, in 1972, and her sister, Ruth LaGrange.
Survivors include her children, Kathaleen Stevenson of Chambersburge, PA, William H. Smith and wife, Pam, of Tallahassee, FL, Lawrence Smith, and Pamela Summers and husband, Greg, all of Port St. Joe, her sister, Katherine Player of Port St. Joe, four grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services for Ms. Smith will be held on Thursday, May 15, at 3 p.m. at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe with Rev. Brent Vickery officiating.
