Vallene Merle Thomas Obituary
Vallene Merle Thomas, 87, of Port St. Joe, passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009.
She was born Oct. 15, 1921 to the late Leaman and Minnie Wise in Sampson, AL. She was a long time member of the First United Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Thomas loved to cook and serve in the church.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her beloved husband: A.W. "Gus" Thomas and a grandson: Bobby Stillinger.
She is survived by her children: Linda Huie of Port St. Joe; Carolyn Prudence of Oxford, GA; Ronnie Thomas and wife, Joy, of Cumming, GA; Vicki Baker and husband, Bo, of Chipley, FL; Roger Thomas and wife, Kathy, of Port St. Joe, FL; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, Sept. 6 at First United Pentecostal Church, 309 6th Street, Port St. Joe, with Rev. Larry Wells and Rev. Doug Golden officiating. Active pallbearers will be Terry Raffield, Marty Huie, Rusty Thomas, John Baker, Joshua Dove, and Donald Thomas. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery.
The family received friends Saturday, September 5.
