Special Events for Mexico Beach, Inc wants to know who cooks the Best Gumbo!!

The 12th Annual Mexico Beach Gumbo Cook Off will be held on Feb.13 at Sunset Park.  The Cook Off is set to start at 10 a.m. CST and will be celebrating till everything is gone.  This year contestants will have the option of entering the Gumbo category, the Brunswick stew category or both! 

The Cook Off is open to any and all restaurants and individuals who love gumbo and enjoy fun competition.  Cash prizes will be awarded in the Gumbo amateur division, Gumbo restaurant division and Brunswick stew division.  The Cook Off is free to enter and the applications are available at the Mexico Beach CDC office, www.mexicobeach.com  or you may contact the office and one may be mailed to you.  Deadline for entry forms is Monday, Feb. 8. 

Mardi Gras will be in full swing for this Gumbo Festival with free beads, balloons, live entertainment and of course Gumbo…and stew.  Tickets to enjoy the gumbo and stew will be available at the entrance tent.  There will also be BBQ and beverages available for purchase.  Monies raised will go towards the Special Events for Mexico Beach. 

There is a drawing for $25 worth of tickets for the Gumbo Festival.  To enter, please email your name, address and phone number to kimberly@mexicobeach.com.  The winner will be contacted the week of the festival.
