90th Birthday Celebration
There will be a celebration of the 90th birthday of Mrs. Stella Norris on Saturday, September 22. It will take place at the Senior Citizens Center between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
Mrs. Norris and her husband moved to Port St. Joe in the 1930s from Washington County. They first lived at Kenney's Mill where Major Norris worked as a member of the locomotive crew on the log and lumber trains. Mrs. Norris was busy raising a family of two sons and two daughters. Later on after moving to Oak Grove, Mrs. Stella was a local correspondent for The Star newspaper. She also delivered papers to homes in Oak Grove.
Mrs. Norris worked as a custodian for over 31 years at the Port St. Joe High School. She was a friend and mentor to many hundreds of students and dozens of teachers during that time. She has been a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God for over 53 years. Mrs. Stella is now a resident of Bay St. Joseph Care Center since breaking her hip last March.
The family invites everyone to come by on Saturday and wish Mrs. Norris a happy birthday.
