People Helping People Planning for Christmas Dinner
Congratulations to everyone who helped serve or deliver over 700 meals on Thanksgiving Day.
We hope to do the same or more this Christmas.
We will meet at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve at the People Helping People offices at 401 Peters St. in Port St. Joe at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.
We need help with preparing turkeys, there will be over 25 turkeys to be carved up, making boxes, setting up tables, cutting up cakes and setting out paper plates, etc.
A group of volunteers will meet at 6:45 a.m. on Christmas morning to prepare the yams and beans and start warming the food up in preparation of packing .
We will prepare or pack 400 meals to begin with and food for 200 will be picked up by the people for the Washington Improvement Group building .
We will need deliveries made in PSJ and surrounding areas, including three individuals or groups to deliver to Wewahitchka, one group or individual to deliver to Howard Creek, two groups for Liberty Manor in Port St. Joe, one group for the Pine Ridge Apartments in Wewahitchka, two groups for the Oak Grove and Port St. Joe area, one group for Mexico Beach and one for Avenues A-G in Port St. Joe.
Anybody wishing to volunteer to cook and slice a turkey and bring it to the People Helping People offices before 9 a.m. on Christmas Day should contact Jerry Stokoe with People Helping People.
Volunteers for assistance in preparing meals, setting up tables and the like is also asked to call Stokoe at 899-9419.
