Port St. Joe man dies in Apalachicola car crash
A 29-year-old Port St. Joe man was killed early Saturday morning when his car struck a light pole in Apalachicola.
Arthur Manual Londono, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene sometime after his 1997 Toyota Tacoma struck a light pole at Center and Chestnut streets.
According to a crash report filed by Florida Highway patrol Cpl. C. Yarborough, Londono was traveling west on Center Street when left the paved portion of the roadway as he was trying to negotiate a curve. The car traveled on to the south shoulder of the road and struck the light pole. It continued westbound, read the report, and rotated before the driver’s side collided with a tree.
The FHP was assisted on the scene by sheriff’s deputies, Apalachicola police officers and volunteer firefighters, and Weems Emergency Services.
The report said Londono was not wearing a seatbelt, and indicated that blood alcohol tests are pending completion.
