Sheriff's Office issues fraud alert

Gulf County Sheriff Joe Nugent has issued an alert pertaining to a fraud that is being perpetrated locally.

Individuals will receive an e-mail styled as below:

Dear Customer,

We have received a report of unauthorized credit card use associated with your Regions account.
In order to protect against future unauthorized transactions, we have limited access to your Regions account.

This is a reminder to restore your account as soon as possible:

Please download the form attached to this email and open it in a web browser.
Once opened, you will be provided with steps to restore your account.

We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure your account safety.

Nugent cautions this is a fraud. Do not open the attached form and do not respond. Delete the e-mail and if a victim of this fraud contact the Sheriff's Office at 227-1115,
