On Friday, Nov. 9 I attended the Veterans Day Salute at Port St. Joe Junior-Senior High School. This was an outstanding program and I salute those who organized the entire program for a job well done. It was one of the best that I have ever attended.
I was one of the veterans being honored at this celebration. The hugs and the handshakes I received for the military service I rendered in my day a career soldier made the day most memorable. What touched my heart the most were the four letters I received from young students from Port St. Joe Elementary School. I was to say thank you to Caden, Paloma, Hannah and Zoe for their encouraging and appreciative letters. I would also like to commend the school teachers and leaders at the schools in Port St. Joe who are teaching our students the importance of patriotism for our country. You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.
The price our great country paid for freedom came through great sacrifices, as we are all aware. It warms my heart to know that patriotism is still alive and well in the greatest country in the world, the United States of America. May God continue to bless America.
