A Gulf County jury last week convicted a Port St. Joe man for selling crack cocaine around local churches.
The jury needed just 30 minutes of deliberation to find Ezekial Register III, also known as “Trey”, guilty of selling crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church.
Register was arrested and charged after a Port St. Joe Police Department investigation that came after complaints had been lodged about drug activity near local churches.
Register was arrested after selling $40 worth of crack within 1,000 feet of Bethel A.M.E. Church in April of last year.
Register faces up to 30 years in prison. He will be sentenced by Circuit Court Judge John Fishel next month.
