Operation Spay Bay and the St. Joseph Bay Humane Society is teaming up this weekend to provide for a low-cost spay clinic for female cats.
The event will take place Sunday, Feb. 12.
Clients will meet at the Humane Society shelter at 1007 10th Street in Port St. Joe at 6 a.m. ET.
Operation Spay Bay will provide transportation from the shelter to Panama City, where the organization will perform the spay.
Cats will be returned to the shelter the same day, about 4:40 p.m. ET.
Only female cats will be provided this transport.
The cost is $20 per cat.
The state of Florida mandates that any veterinarian that spays/neuters an animal must also give the animal a rabies shot.
Rabies shots will be $10, for a total cost of the spay of $30.
If your cat is up to date on rabies vaccinations, the owner must provide proof; a tag by itself cannot be used as proof of rabies vaccination.
Operation Spay Bay would like everyone to call and make an appointment and pay in advance.
To make an appointment or for more information contact Amy Wetzel at the St. Joseph Bay Humane Society, 227-1103.
