Carol (Decker) Bergmann Vlahos of Wewahitchka, FL, 81, went to be with our Lord on April 10, 2017. Carol worked for The Reliable Life Insurance Company and then Union Electric (now AMEREN) in St. Louis, MO for a combined total of 38 years before retiring to Wewahitchka in 1991. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Wewahitchka and the Wewahitchka Woman’s Club. She was also a member of Kappa Phi Sorority and a two-time Past Matron of (former) America Chapter #484, Order of the Eastern Star while in St. Louis.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Vlahos; her father, Fred Decker; step-father, William Nolte; mother Mathilda (Gross) Nolte; and three sisters, Myrtle Walsh, Bernice Holliday, and Barbara Schmidt. She will be missed by many nieces & nephews, great-nieces & -nephews, and numerous friends & neighbors.

Her thoughtful wish was granted to have her body given to the Anatomical Board of the State of Florida that it might ultimately help medical students save the life of others in the future.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. CT Friday, April 28, at First United Methodist Church in Wewahitchka. Another service will be held at a later date in St. Louis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations appreciated to Alzheimer’s Association, Covenant Care Hospice, First United Methodist Church, or the institution of your choice where you and Carol may have shared cherished memories.
