Mae Lee Smith Bracewell, age 96, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at her home in Port St. Joe. She was born November 9, 1920 in Adrian, Georgia to Otha Julian Smith and Cora Lee Pettis Smith. She grew up in Apopka, Florida and was the last surviving classmate of Apopka High School class of 1938. She married Joed Bracewell of Bristol, Florida on September 12, 1938. They moved to Port St. Joe in 1942.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Joed Bracewell; her infant daughter Sharon; her son Robert Julian (Bob); two brothers O. J. Smith Jr., and William Ivey (Bill) Smith; and one sister Eloise Lord.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Bracewell Clenney; three grandchildren, Eric Clenney and wife Stephanie, Jan Lenz and husband Jason, and Leeann Davidson and husband Paul; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
She had memberships at First Baptist Church and Faith Bible Church.
Her visitation was Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. E.D.T. at Faith Bible Church, 801 20th Street, Port St. Joe. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. E.D.T. at Meacham Cemetery in Bristol, Fl with pastor Coy Collins officiating.
