A domestic argument in Howard Creek escalated last week and ended with a woman shooting her boyfriend.
Kelly D. Evans, 49, ultimately acknowledged shooting Joseph B. Taylor, Jr., 53, in the yard of the her home.
Evans was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery with a firearm.
Taylor was transported to Bay Medical Sacred Heart in Panama City and is expected to recover.
Emergency dispatchers receiving a 9-1-1 call early last Friday, Evans stating she had shot a man in her yard at 144 Old Bay City Road.
Taylor was lying in the yard with an apparent gunshot wound when deputies arrived.
Investigators learned Evans and Taylor were living together and the shooting was the result of an argument between the two.
Evans admitted shooting Taylor from her bedroom window as he was outside preparing to leave.
After securing a warrant, a search turned up the weapon.
