Alma (Betty) Elizabeth Lewis, 98, of Port St. Joe, passed away May 10, 2017 in Winter Haven, FL. She was born August 7, 1918 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Cynthia Elizabeth and Asa G. Montgomery. She lived most of her life in Port St. Joe and was a long time member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Duffy M. Lewis.
She is survived by her daughters Frances Alford (John) of Winter Haven, FL, and Pat Grabowski (Ted) of Lubbock, TX; her grandsons Richard Alford (Becky), Silver Spring, MD Ronald Alford, Savannah, Ga, and Chris Grabowski (Christine), Albuquerque, NM; her great-grandchildren Orion Alford and Elise Grabowski; two brothers, Bill Montgomery, York Springs, PA and Jim (wife Dorothee) Hickory, N.C.; a niece Cindy Sanderson (Steve ), York Springs, PA ; a sister-in-law Edna Grubbs, Sarasota, FL and many other family members and friends.
Funeral service were held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. EDT at First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Boyd Evans, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Internment followed at Holly Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Bereavement Fund, the St. Joe Bay Humane Society, or to Orchid Springs Animal Hospital, We Love Pets Fund, 615 Overlook Dr, Winter Haven, FL 33884 This is where her most loved cat, Happy, had lived.
