1938- Florida Power Corp. cuts rates for businesses in Port St. Joe. It was the fifth rate reduction as the city grew rapidly.
1947- Gunnery targets are removed from St. Joseph Bay. The targets were used by aircraft from nearby Tyndall Field during World War II.
1957- The St. Joe Lumber and Export Company’s lumber mill is demolished.
1973- A wild police chase ends near Port St. Joe. After stealing a Franklin County Sheriff’s Department car in Apalachicola, Evelyn Whelock led police on a chase that reached 130 mph. She was eventually shot and stopped by a Port St. Joe policeman.
1986-Sheep are stolen from the Port St. Joe Elementary petting zoo.
