1943- The city of Port St. Joe participates in a war time blackout. Planes from nearby Tyndall Field flew over inspecting the city for lights from homes. The city passed the test.
1954- The Humble Oil and Refining Company test drills for oil in Dalkeith.
1964- The Gulf County seat moves from Wewahitchka to Port St. Joe after a 2350 to 1773 referendum vote.
1976- The current site of the Port St. Joe library is approved by the county.
1990- Eighty three percent of graduates from Port St. Joe High go on to college.
2009- Arizona Chemical announces its closure.
