Ina Marie Sutley Odum passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the age of 102. Born on July 14, 1914 in Laurel Hills, FL, Ina was the youngest daughter of the late Daniel Franklin and Salona Kyle (Durden) Sutley. While working as a licensed beautician in Panama City, Ina met Julius C. Odum, the love of her life, at First Baptist Church of Panama City where both attended. They were married on December 12, 1942 and together began a life of Christian service that lasted 59 years until his death. Following her husband’s graduation from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, her family relocated to Port St. Joe, FL in 1953, when Julius became the first pastor of Long Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Odum is survived by her brother, Dr. Cecil Sutley of Arkadelphia, AR; her children, David Julius Odum (Judy) of Blountstown, FL, Beverley Gayle Odum of Panama City; Daniel Harris Odum (Paulette) of Lilburn, GA; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services were held 11 a.m. EDT, Friday, May 26, 2017 at Holly Hill Cemetery, Port. St. Joe, with Rev. Dan Odum and Rev. David Odum officiating.
