The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club has been plenty busy in recent weeks.

Tupelo Festival

The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club would like to thank friends and supporters who came out and donated to our fundraiser held May 20 at the Tupelo Festival. There were 35 prizes donated by local merchants given out and Wewahitchka commemorative plates and bake goods were sold. It was a fun and successful event.

Your donations increased the opportunity for us to succeed in aiding those in need and funding for our many programs that provide services to our local community and worldwide.

The Big Red bus was there and we had friends and club member Gabrielle Morningstar donated blood to One Blood.

Celebrate Reading Month

The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club’s Education Committee and Club members provided pizza, snack cakes and Capri Sun drinks for Wewahitchka Elementary school’s 3rd-grade for “Celebrate Reading Month”. The children were rewarded for their reading and efforts to obtain their library cards and were reminded to keep reading over the summer.

Memorial Day

GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club Observed Memorial Day by placing a wreath at the “V” in Wewahitchka. This wreath was placed to honor the men and women who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. GFWC Members Pat Stripling, Patty Fisher, Rhonda Alderman, Carolyn Watson and Club Booster Willard J. Watson attended this ceremony of remembrance.
