Plants, fish and produce headline this week’s menu of options, should one wish to take a break from the beach and the surf.
Here are a few suggestions for your entertainment this weekend.
1. Enjoy “Sunshine and Sandcastles” at the Garden Club. The Port St. Joe Garden Club will hold a show “filled with sunshine and flowers” 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. ET Saturday at the Garden Center located at 216 Eighth Street. Flowers of all varieties and arranged in myriad ways will be on display and for sale.
2. The Mexico Beach Farmers Market. The Mexico Beach Farmers and Craft Market is back in Mexico Beach and Parker Park. From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. CT Saturday shop for fresh, local vegetables and baked goods as well as gifts and goodies from local craftspeople. Parker Park is located at 2500 U.S. Highway 98. Vendor applications are available at mexicobeach.com under calendar of events.
3. Drop a line in some saltwater, for free. This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, will be license-free saltwater fishing days in Florida. In other words, don’t worry about purchasing a license to drop your line and angle for one of the many species of saltwater fish that thrive in Gulf County. The license-free days arrived near National Fishing and Boating Week, a national celebration of fishing and boating.
