Catch Charlie and Dana Hunt Black at the Port Theatre. The historic Port Theatre hosts a special “Thursdays at the Theatre” with Port St. Joe residents and Nashville artists Charlie and Dana Hunt Black tonight. They will be joined during the night by James Austin, who finished second in last year’s “Emerging Artist Showcase” during the Blast on the Bay Songwriters Festival. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. ET and the show begins at 7 p.m. ET. General admission tickets are $10. VIP tickets are $25 and include preferred seat and an artist meet-and-greet with entrance to the theatre at 6 p.m. ET. Tickets are available at the door or can be purchased at the Port Inn, Haughty Heron, Lookout Lounge, Krazy Fish and Sunset Coastal Grill. Charlie and Dana Hunt Black are highly-regarded songwriters, Charlie winning “Songwriter of the Year” three times, inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Association Hall of Fame and nominated for numerous Grammys. Dana Hunt Black has written an ASCAP Song of the Year, two No. 1 hits for George Strait and both Blacks have written for a slew of prominent artists.


Climb the Cape San Blas Lighthouse. During the summer, the lighthouse, located in Port St. Joe’s George Core Park, is open for climbing to gain some of the more panoramic views to be found around. The lighthouse is open 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. ET Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For adults 13 and over, the cost to climb is $5 and for children under 12, but at least 44 inches tall, the cost for the climb is $3. Please, no flip-flops – climbers need sturdy shoes. Also, keep in mind, the Lighthouse Gift Shop, located inside the Sleeping Beauty keepers’ quarters is open during the same hours.


Shop for produce, crafts at Salt Air Saturday. The SaltAir Farmers Market, now in its 10th year, offers a variety of crafts and seasonal produce with up to 20 vendors participating Saturday.

The market is found at the corner of Cecil G. Costin, Sr. Blvd. and Reid Ave. on the first and third Saturdays of the month. The market is open 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. ET.
