TSgt (Ret.) Ronald Wayne Wagner, 80, of Port Saint Joe, FL made his earthly transition and experienced his home coming Sunday, June 18, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life service was held 10:30 a.m. EST Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Long Avenue Baptist Church, located at 1601 Long Avenue, Port Saint Joe, FL with Pastor Eli Prine officiating. The family received friends immediately following the service. A private inurnment will be held later at Veteran Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. Ron was born October 25, 1936 in Toronto, OH, son of the late James Audren Wagner and Waveline Hunter Wagner. After graduation, he served his country honorably for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a Programs and Work Control Technician. He served one tour in the Vietnam Era Conflict, also serving in Saudi Arabia, Europe, South East Asia, and along with many Stateside tours of duty. Mr. Wagner was born again on August 25, 1969 in Sevilla, Spain where he became a Pastor in January 1970 in Madrid, Spain. Ron was a devoted Christian, Church Planter, Evangelist, and Pastor. He shepherded many churches in the Florida panhandle, Nevada and overseas with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. Other than his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his brother Ralph “Jiggs” Wagner. He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Wagner, of Eastman, GA; two daughters Debby Morris (Charles) of Apalachicola, FL, and Sheryl Register (Mancel) of Montevallo, AL; three sons James “Audy” Wagner of St. Joe Beach, FL, Roland Wagner of Panama City, FL, and Bryan Wagner (Tonya) of Panama City, FL; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
