The Port St. Joe Police Department hosted its first ever Public Safety Day last Saturday at First Baptist Church in Port St. Joe.
Scores of interested folks of all ages turned out to mingle with, and learn from local law enforcement offices as well as other public safety offices and organizations.
Folks were treated to K-9 shows, as well a free food and refreshments provided by local churches.
Some high tech equipment was on display including a rescue helicopter, Bomb Squad robots, and specialized dive equipment.
Kids were treated to free educational materials from the Gulf County Health Department, and free face painting by airmen from nearby Tyndall AFB.
