Here are a few suggestions for entertainment or recreation in the coming days.

 

Free concert in George Core Park. The Gulf County Chamber of Commerce continues its “Sound of Summer” concert series with Johnny & the Love Seats 6-8 p.m. ET tonight in Port St. Joe’s George Core Park. Johnny & the Love Seats were seen on The Voice and will be playing several dates in the area. The concert is free. Bring you blankets or chairs and enjoy the music along St. Joseph Bay. Beer and soft drinks will be available for sale. No coolers allowed.

 

 

How about a sunset/moonlight climb of the Cape San Blas Lighthouse. The Cape San Blas Lighthouse in Port St. Joe will be the site of sunset/moonlight climb 8:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. ET Sunday, July 9. The sunset climb is limited to 20 climbers. Call 229-8261 for reservations. The moonlight climb is first-come, first-served. Tickets for either climb are $10 and $15 for both sunset and moonlight climbs. You must at least 44-inches tall and guests wearing flip-flops will be asked to climb barefoot. The Gift Shop will also be open. The lighthouse is open for climbing during the day, Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. ET. Cost to climb during the day is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12-and-under.

 

The Mexico Beach Farmers Market. The Mexico Beach Farmers and Craft Market is back in Mexico Beach and Parker Park. From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. CT Saturday shop for fresh, local vegetables and baked goods as well as gifts and goodies from local craftspeople. Parker Park is located at 2500 U.S. Highway 98.
