Born Feb. 22, 1957 in Perry, FL to Thomas Carlton (Poodle) and Ora Faye (Martin) Holmes. He was a resident of Panama City, FL at the time of his passing. He was longtime resident of Wewa growing up and graduating from Wewa High School. He was a great man to all. He was a Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Uncle , Cousin, Friend and Husband. He passed in his sleep on Tuesday morning July 11, 2017.

He was in the Air Force working on Aircraft at Luke Air Force base in Az. in 1976 thru 1979 . He also worked at Lloyd Pontiac before its closing and he worked as a security guard. He was simple man, his greatest joy and his legacy and achievement in life are his Children and Grand Children.

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas ( Poodle ) and Ora Faye (Martin) Holmes; his first wife, Kathy Bryant Holmes; and his sister, Shirley Holmes King.

He leaves behind his wife, Melody Phillips Holmes; his children, two daughters, Sharon and Milton Brannon, Jennifer and Mike Speedling, and two sons, Thomas and Lisa Holmes, Daniel and Kim Holmes; two step-children, Robert Poucher and Maggie Brannon; his grandchildren, Michael, Kimmy, Ricky, Abby, Donnie, Jayden, Logen, Katherine, Evelyn, Trinity, Annabelle and Laura; his brothers and sisters, Jerry Holmes, Wayne and Betty Holmes, Janice Nelson, Wanda and Dwayne Greer and Linda Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews way too many to list; and friends.

His funeral was at the First Baptist Church, 436 FL-71, Wewahitchka, FL 32465 on Friday, July 16, 2017 at 1 p.m. with a private viewing from 12 p.m. until 12:30 p.m. and a public viewing from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. with funeral following at 1 p.m. The eulogy was given by Pat Holmes. Interment was at Jehu Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Daniel Holmes, Thomas Holmes, Chris King, Mike Speedling, Michael Speedling Robert Poucher and Ricky Brannon.

In lieu of flowers donations my be made to the local Diabetes Association or to the local Wounded Warrior Project.
