The Charles Whitehead Wewahitchka Public Library has successfully concluded this year’s summer reading program, “Build a Better World.”
Local and visiting children learned about ways they could make the world a better place. Children were read a variety of engaging stories, enjoyed many fun activities and created beautiful crafts.
We would like to thank all of the community guests who collaborated with the library to make this summer’s program such a success: the Florida Department of Health, Choices Program; University of Florida/Gulf County Extension; the Florida Department of Agriculture, Smokey the Bear; T.H. Stone St. Joseph Peninsula State Park; Southeastern Consulting Engineers.
The library would also like to thank the local grocery stores, Rich’s IGA and Dixie Dandy, for the food and drinks they donated for the end of the summer celebration.
Thanks also goes out to our teen volunteers, Kristi Whitfield and Maggie Miller who assisted with the programs.
Please stay tuned for more upcoming events at your local library. For more information call 639-2419.
