The Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve will offer a Seagrass Exploration Class Friday, Aug. 25. The class will be 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. ET and will be held at the St. Joe Buffer Preserve Lodge located at 3915 State Road 30A. Before spending time in the classroom, participants will immerse themselves in the vibrant seagrass ecosystem with a guided snorkeling tour of the crystal-clear seagrass beds in St. Joseph Bay. Following, participants will hear a discussion led by experienced marine biology experts exploring seagrass conservation, and get involved with hands-on activities and group investigations. This adult-level class covers the basics of life in a seagrass bed, as well as the intricate ties between organisms and important conservation. Attendees are responsible for bringing their own snorkel gear, snack, water bottle and change of clothes. Be prepared to get wet!
