The Shark 100 Club, a non-profit which assists Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School athletics, kicked off a new football season last week with a gathering prior to the Tiger Sharks practice last Friday. The players listened to comments from Superintendent of Schools Jim Norton, State Rep. Halsey Beshears (R-Monticello), Gen. (Ret.) James Simmons and several boosters, all urging the team to work and play hard during the coming season. This week the Tiger Sharks continued practices as they gear up for the season, which begins before the month is out. “We have had excellent practices so far,” said Port St. Joe coach John Palmer. “The kids are excited and working hard.” Photos by Tim Croft | The Star.
