“Dad, Take Your Child to School Day” was a huge success at Wewahitchka Elementary School! Including “dads, “father-figures,” and students, nearly 300 participated in this wonderful event on Sept. 27. Wewahitchka Elementary warmly welcomed dads and father figures by sharing Krispy Kreme donuts, juice, and/or bottled water with them. Ms. Bowers addressed the “male figures,” and shared the importance of their support and presence in the lives of their children. Laila Suber read a poem to them using the letters D-A-D-D-Y. All were smiles during this event, and the children were proud to have their “dad” by their side. After the event was over, dads had the opportunity to walk their child(ren) to class, share a kiss, a hug, and an encouraging word with them. It was a wonderful sight to witness!
