George Henry Kelley, 71, of Highland View, FL passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2017 at his home.
Born on June 30, 1946, he was the son of the late Loren Kelley and Myrtle Spruiell Kelley. Mr. Kelley was a graduate of Port St. Joe High School, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Roosevelt during Vietnam.
George spent most of his life as a long haul truck driver and loved fishing and camping with family and friends. He was a long time member of Regional Land and Water Rescue Unit in Dothan, AL, and spent most Saturday nights playing music with his friends at Dupree School in Ashford, AL. George was a kind, caring man that loved helping people whenever he could.
George is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Shirah Kelley and brother Frankie Kelley of Highland View. Also two daughters, Christine (Duayne) Allen, Tallahassee, FL., and Kathryn Kelley Tate of Highland View, FL.
Mr. Kelley leaves behind 7 grandchildren; Kayla (Joe) Hodges, Pansey, AL, Robert (Ashley) Kelley, Highland View, FL, Joshua Allen, Pansey, AL, Andria (Chris) Childree, Webb, AL, George “Skippy” Allen, Tallahassee, FL, Maggie (Austin) Trueman, Tallahassee, FL and Dakota Deatherage, Highland View, FL.
He also leaves behind 7 great-grandchildren; Loralei Kelley, Dallas, TX, Amber Lindsey, Highland View, FL, Hayden Lindsey, Highland View, FL, Dominic Childree, Webb, AL and Kaia Trueman, Tallahassee, FL.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at 12 p.m. EST at Hope Family Worship Center, 2001 Garrison Ave., Port St. Joe, FL.
