The Lady Tiger Sharks are at Wewahitchka Friday, at Franklin County Saturday and at Chipley Monday before returning home to host the Gulf County Classic next weekend.

Niceville 51, Port St. Joe 45

Port St. Joe opened the season in a Thanksgiving Shootout at Choctawhatchee , facing off against large-school power Niceville.

The Lady Eagles took an early lead and held it until 4:30 left in the third quarter when Teiyahna Hutchinson hit a 3-pointer to knot the score at 26.

The Lady Tiger Sharks trailed the rest of the way despite Hutchinson’s 20 points, five rebounds, six assists and 10 steals.

Jae Lenox, just a seventh-grader, added 11 points, two steals and a rebound while Brooklyn Quinn contributed five points, three rebounds and seven assists.

Mimi Larry, Aliyah Johnson, Mari Johnson and Antiuana Croom (three rebounds) each had two points. Sha’Mario Cole had one point.

Port St. Joe 54, Panama City Beach Arnold 16

The Lady Tiger Sharks maintained the big-school theme on the road the following week, blasting past Arnold with Quinn leading the way with 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists and eight steals.

Port St. Joe led 19-4 after the first quarter and was up 37-7 at halftime.

The lead was 35 points in the third quarter and the clock did not stop the rest of the way.

Hutchinson contributed 15 points, two rebounds, ficve assists and three steals while Cole had seven points and two rebounds.

Croom added six points and four rebounds, Lenox four points and Larry two.

Port St. Joe 59, Rutherford 20

Two days later, it was on to Class 5A Rutherford and another rout.

Holding Rutherford scoreless in the opening quarter, the Lady Tiger Sharks raced to a 18-0 lead which bulged to 32-9 by halftime.

The Lady Tiger Sharks outscored Rutherford 27-11 in the second half.

Hutchinson led the way for Port St. Joe with 18 points, seven rebounds, five assists, five steals and one block.

Quinn contributed 12 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, four steals and one block and Cole had 10 points, four rebounds and four steals.

Cousins Larry and Lenox each had nine points and Croom added one point and five boards.
