Supporting kids in need this holiday season
Children’s Christmas Fund, a program of the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office for needy children in Gulf County, has placed Red Christmas Stockings at area businesses again this year. We are hoping that through the generosity of the people in our area we can bring Christmas happiness to the children in need. As you may know, there are hundreds of children that are on the free lunch program at our Gulf County schools. With your help we can make Christmas brighter for them by giving them new toys.
NEW toy drop-off places this year will be the South Gulf County Fire Department, Gulf 2 Bay Construction Offices in Simmons Bayou, St Joseph Bay Golf Club at 700 Country Club Road, Capital City Bank at 504 Monument, and Sunset Coastal Grill at 602 Monument. You can send a tax deductible donation to the Coastal Community Association and we will play Santa for you. 1934 SR 30A, PSJ 32456. Please donate early – last day is Dec. 10 so Santa can get the toys out to the right kids. There will be a drop-off at the Farmers Market Dec. 2 and 16 for new toys or donations.
Make your donation to any of the Red Christmas Stockings at one of the following local businesses: Bay Breeze Antiques, Piggly Wiggly, Blue Water Outrigger, Buy Rite Drugs, Coastal Cabin, Erget & Ibis, Boutique By the Bay, Ace Hardware, Half Hitch Tackle, Emerald Coast Jewelry, all in Port St. Joe; St Joe Shrimp Company and St. Joseph Bay Golf Club in Simmons Bayou, IGA, Buy Rite, and Dixie Dandy in Wewahitchka.
On the Cape you will find the Red Christmas Stockings at Scallop Cove, The Trading Post, and St. Joe Shrimp Co. CSB. If you should have any questions about the Children’s Christmas Fund call Barb Van Treese 227-9837.
