An update with just days to go
Here is where we are now. The Annual Christmas Party brought in so much and thanks to Nancy and Stuart for putting that on. However, we’ve got 250 deserving children who Sheriff Harrison has found to be “nice”, not naughty. We have until this Saturday to make sure NO CHILD in Gulf County is left without a present under their tree.
If you are a parent or grandparent, what would you feel if yours had nothing under the tree? How would they feel? YOU can make a difference. One child, one gift, one donation changes everything. Christmas is about giving, not to those who have everything, but to those who need. What about if you want to give a gift to a good friend but can’t think of anything to give them because they need nothing? What about a toy in their name. Boy, would I love that.
There are many organizations in our Gulf County who are helping, Coastal Community Association with their Toy Drive for the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office, South Gulf County Volunteer Fire Department, St. Joseph Bay Golf Club, Gulf 2 Bay Construction, The Lion’s Club.
Have you noticed the Christmas Stockings set up around Gulf County. Christmas Elf, Barb Van Treese uses her time to place them, pick them up, and makes a world of difference with what is collected there. When you pay, the change can go in the stocking to make a difference.
Mechanical Elves will be meeting at the St Joseph Bay Golf Club Thursday at 3 p.m. to assemble bikes that have been donated. You can help by bringing your tools and helping turn pieces into bikes.
Are you a golfer? Well, have fun and do good. Come on out for the annual Jingle Bell Tournament this Saturday at St Joseph Bay Golf Club at 12:30 p.m. with more fun than you can imagine as a golfer. Call the Club for more information.
Our County has so much heart. I know that by Saturday, we will have everything we need to meet every child’s wish and on that, I wish you and yours the Very Best Merry Christmas.
